COMMITMENT TO OUR FUTURE A passion for the future of today’s youth, and a belief that our future is in their hands,  Sumner is motivated to work with select charitable organizations that assist young people with their career options.    Sumner believes that in order for positive change to occur in destructive situations, individuals must be willing to speak up and take action. . Sumner established a website Quiet Heroes. The goal of this website is to bring attention to those people who have taken a stand and stepped up for a worthy cause and through their efforts a difference is being seen in others' lives. For several years Sumner has been invited to conduct facilitator training to the students who organize the annual Youth Congress.

Sumner dedicates a significant effort to the marketing and promotion of The Lorraine Jackson Foundation/Pearls of Hope® charity organization. The Foundation’s primary mission is to provide scholarships for secondary education for children who have lost a parent to breast cancer.

		Sumner donates her time to assist in the growth of 23rd Street Station, a philanthropic organization The mission of 23rd Street Station is to work with victims of domestic violence in order to enable them to acquire basic life and updated job skills, thus allowing them to re-enter society feeling more secure, self reliant and confident.
		Sumner participated in the  Vancouver 26.2 mile Marathon to help raise funds and awareness for The Wellness Community. The Wellness Community offers cancer support, education and hope.
