Meditation
is
not restricted to any specific
religion or spiritual belief.
Meditation is personal.
For someone
new to meditation, meditation is so much more than just
sitting still with your eyes closed, trying not to physically fall
asleep; although sitting still can be part of it. Meditation is so
much more. Mindful meditation can be practiced
throughout your day, in different ways and in many different
activities.
Mindful Meditation is experiencing what ever is happening in the
moment. Whether walking, working, listening to music, lounging in
nature or sitting in traffic; mindful meditation can ...
* assist you in clearing your
mind to focus on an important task
* reduce stress and worry
* experience the joy of the moment
* relax your body
* ease the stress and strain in your muscles
* medical studies indicate that mindful meditation can assist you in
lowering your blood pressure and slowing your aging process.
Sumner was taught Mindful Meditation at a young age by her Grandfather.
Through the years, she practiced it sporatically and experienced
powerful results each time. As she began practicing on a regular basis,
the benefits became more evident in her life. She has been teaching
mindful meditation for over 20 years and has several recorded
meditations. Some of her meditatins are with music, others offer guided
imagery. Her most often requested meditation is practiced with Flight
of the Eagle background music. Sumner also recommends meditation as a
solution to creating a positive relationship with stress and includes
it in her book, Stress Out, show stress
who's the boss.

Meditation can
give the brain a charge. Brain research is beginning to produce
concrete evidence for something that Buddhist practitioners of
meditation have maintained for centuries: Mental discipline and
meditative practice can change the workings of the brain and allow
people to achieve different levels of awareness.
